Port Gamble Waterfront
The bioluminescence kayak tours here are something genuinely special, with guides like Chris, Aaron, and John earning repeated praise for their patience, local knowledge, and ability to make first-timers feel comfortable on the water. One tip worth noting: bring waterproof boots or gear, as beginners tend to get some water in the kayak. On moonlit nights the glow can be subtler, though guides know how to find the best spots regardless. Beyond the tours, the kayaking instruction program stands out. Instructors like Brian and Carson run courses ranging from beginner capsize recovery to more advanced surf and navigation clinics, consistently meeting students at their skill level and pushing them forward thoughtfully. Multiple reviewers returned for additional classes, which says a lot. The shop side of things holds its own too. Staff members like Trina and Drew come up frequently for going out of their way, whether that means tracking down a special order, demonstrating e-bike features, or helping someone find the right dry suit. Rentals, gear sales, and courses all seem to run smoothly, making this a solid one-stop resource for exploring the North Kitsap area outdoors.
