    • Discover Seattle holiday lore and the stories behind local donut shops

    Itinerary

Your festive adventure begins at the flagship Top Pot Doughnuts and Coffee on 5th Avenue, under the shadow of the Seattle Monorail, where their “hand-forged” donuts take on a seasonal twist. Surrounded by cozy holiday décor, you’ll enjoy classics like the Old-Fashioned or Maple Bar alongside festive favorites, while we share how Top Pot became a symbol of Seattle’s love for quality coffee and pastries.

Next, we’ll venture near the glowing Amazon Spheres, beautifully decorated for the season, to a trendy donut café known for its innovative Latin-inspired flavors. As you savor their creative, holiday-inspired treats, we’ll discuss how Seattle blends its tech-driven present with its rich cultural roots, especially during this festive time of year. On our way to our next location, we’ll catch a nice view of Seattle’s iconic Space Needle, all dressed up for the Holidays with strings of lights extending from the pinnacle in the shape of a tree, creating one of the most visible holiday decorations in the city.

Then we’ll stop by a beloved local bakery founded by a James Beard Award-Winning chef, a pioneer in the farm-to-table movement who helped kick off Seattle’s culinary renaissance. Enjoy handcrafted donuts and seasonal specialties that highlight the warmth of the holidays.

Our final two stops take us to the bustling Pike Place Market, transformed into a winter wonderland during the holidays. First we’ll sip some delicious champurrado, a traditional warm Mexican chocolate beverage served during the Holidays as we stroll along the cheerfully decorated Market and pass by the large festively-lit Holiday tree. Then, we move on to the famous Daily Dozen Doughnut Company, where we watch as fresh mini donuts are made right before your eyes, tossed in cinnamon sugar, and served warm. As you enjoy these comforting treats, we’ll share the story of Pike Place Market, from its founding in 1907 to its role today as one of Seattle’s most vibrant and festive destinations.

This holiday tour is a joyful way to explore Seattle’s history, culture, and festive spirit one sweet bite at a time.

The guides really make this experience special. Reviewers consistently praise their tour leaders by name—Wade, Beau, Eric, Jackson, Nick, Michael, Emily, and others—describing them as knowledgeable, funny, and genuinely engaging. What stands out is how these guides weave local history and city stories into the walking tour, making it much more than just a food crawl. Multiple guests mention learning fascinating historical facts about their city while sampling donuts, and several reviewers who've taken tours in different cities (Chicago, Portland, DC, Boston, NYC) report consistently excellent experiences across locations. The donut quality gets thumbs up, with most stops offering delicious variety in styles and flavors. Expect comfortable seating at each location, which people appreciate. Tours typically run about two hours and cover a good walking distance, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Several locals have used these tours to entertain out-of-town visitors with great success, and at least one repeat customer has done six tours and counting. It's clearly a hit for dates, birthdays, and family outings alike.
