Walking tour, Licensed guide
Explore Uptown New Orleans on foot with a licensed guide who has ancestral ties to the neighborhood. Rather than a traditional mansion tour, this walk uses the seven deadly sins to reveal the people and choices behind the neighborhood's polished surface.
Envy: Keeping Up Appearances Begin among two neighboring Victorian beauties whose similarities and differences open the story of status, comparison and the competitive world of Uptown society.
Gluttony: When Enough Is Never Enough Meet a larger-than-life hospitality figure whose appetite for entertaining included one of the strangest Sunday lunches in New Orleans history.
Lust: What Happened After the Lights Went Out? Step into a real twentieth-century love affair involving separated spouses, private detectives, overnight visits and a question that eventually reached the Louisiana Supreme Court.
Pride: Wealth, Power and Legacy Stand before one of the city's most exclusive enclaves while exploring the rise of an immigrant businessman whose fortune reached far beyond New Orleans and whose legacy became intertwined with a nearby university.
The Changing Landscape Discover how plantations, family landholdings, a spectacular international exposition, a public park and two universities transformed this section of Uptown across generations.
Greed: The Price of Sweetness Explore the land where a breakthrough in sugar production helped change Louisiana's economy, creating tremendous fortunes while expanding an industry dependent upon enslaved labor.
Wrath: Rebellion and Retribution Travel back to colonial Louisiana, where resistance to a new government led to rebellion, retaliation and an execution intended to send a powerful message.
Sloth: What Happens When No One Takes Care of It? End with a modern story of inheritance, unresolved property and the consequences that can fall upon later generations when responsibility is continually postponed.
Final Reflection: The Eighth Sin After judging centuries of ambition, desire, excess and scandal, guests are left with one final question: perhaps the most revealing sin of the tour has been walking beside us all along.

The Garden District and Witches Coven tours are particularly popular, with many visitors saying these were the best tours they took in New Orleans. People appreciate the intimate group sizes and how personable the guides are, weaving together history, witchcraft lore, and architectural details in entertaining ways. Several reviewers mention returning for multiple tours with this company, which speaks volumes. Even locals bring out-of-town guests here and discover new information about their own city.
My friend booked the Historic Garden District tour so when it started at the White farm house with a discussion of ancestral witch craft I was a little startled. But that feeling quickly changed with Hannah Kate's presentation. She is incredibly engaging and her knowledge of the Garden District was fantastic. She is also an amazing story teller. I had a wonderful time, even though it was well over 90 degrees, because Hannah Kate kept is the shade and took great care of us. I strongly recommend this tour even if witch craft isn't your thing, as the architecture, the history and the beauty of the Garden District combine seamlessly with Hannah Kate'a talk.
