To legally drink in Kentucky, you must be 21 years of age and have a valid form of identification. Underage guests or guests without ID will not be permitted to drink on a Mint Julep Tours bus or at a distillery. However, most distilleries allow underage guests to tour without tasting spirits. Tour price remains the same if you drink alcohol or abstain. For ticketed public bourbon tours through Mint Julep Tours, children must be 12 years of age or older.
No! Many guests chose to enjoy Bourbon Country without ever tasting bourbon. Bourbon tours share the history of America’s native spirit and its craftsmanship, offering a learning opportunity for everyone.
Most public bourbon tours travel in one of our comfortable 22-passenger buses.

Standing on the banks of the Kentucky River in Frankfort, Buffalo Trace Distillery draws visitors into a working landscape of aging warehouses, copper pot stills, and the deep, sweet scent of maturing bourbon. The grounds feel lived-in and genuinely historic, where production has continued for more than two centuries. Buffalo Trace Distillery invites you to walk among the same rickhouses where some of the world's most sought-after spirits quietly rest.
Louisville's bourbon trail comes to life with guides like Bruce, Travis, Cindy, Doug, and Tony leading the way. Reviewers consistently rave about how knowledgeable and personable these guides are, going beyond just distillery facts to share local history, Kentucky culture, and bourbon lore that makes each stop feel genuinely meaningful. The logistics are handled smoothly, with comfortable transportation and well-paced itineraries that give you time to actually enjoy each distillery rather than feeling rushed. What stands out is the flexibility on offer. Some travelers book pre-planned group tours and walk away having made new friends on the bus, while others hand over the planning entirely and receive a fully customized day tailored to their preferences. Either way, the feedback paints a picture of a team that genuinely cares about delivering a memorable experience, whether that's a birthday celebration, a bachelor trip, or a simple getaway built around great bourbon and good food.
