Paddle the Salem and Beverly coastline at sunset with a guided tour
90 minutes
Guide, kayak or paddleboard, PFD
Launch from Salem Willows for a relaxed, beginner-friendly sunset paddle along the coast. Choose a kayak or standup paddleboard (SUP) and follow your guide toward Beverly Harbor.
Arrive 30 minutes prior to launch for equipment fitting and to stash belongings. Tours are best suited for paddlers 18+.
Cancel at least 24 hours before your reservation to avoid being charged the full rate. Missed reservations or cancellations within 24 hours are charged in full. If Coast to Coast Paddle cancels due to unsafe weather/wind conditions, you will receive a refund.
Wear something you don’t mind getting a little wet, like a swimsuit, board shorts, or quick-dry activewear. Bring a light layer or lightweight jacket in case it cools off or gets breezy.
Yes—launch areas can be rocky. Wear water shoes, sandals with straps, or flip-flops for walking to the water, then stash them under the deck bungees or keep them on while you paddle.
Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a towel and dry clothes to leave in your car. You can bring a phone or camera at your own risk; a waterproof, floatable case is recommended.
Coast to Coast Paddle-Salem Willows Kiosk
Coast to Coast Paddle earns consistent praise for its exceptionally friendly and accommodating approach to kayaking. Aaron, who appears to be the owner, stands out for his patient instruction and genuine passion for the sport. Multiple reviewers mention feeling nervous or skeptical at first, only to leave feeling confident and excited to get back on the water. He's known for going above and beyond, from offering his personal kayak to beginners needing specific equipment, to tethering struggling paddlers and keeping a close eye on weather conditions for safety. The location on Salem Bay provides gorgeous views, and the operation runs smoothly with equipment ready to go and secure storage for valuables. Both guided tours and lessons receive enthusiastic feedback, with first-timers particularly appreciating the clear land-based instruction before hitting the water. The staff knows how to balance professionalism with a relaxed, fun atmosphere that works well for couples, tourists, and anyone looking to learn proper kayaking technique. Regulars keep coming back season after season, which speaks volumes about the quality of the experience.
Great place to rent a kayak; really nice people! Prior to my trip i had contacted them asking if i could get a sit inside kayak. Aaron (owner?) offer to lend me his own kayak! That’s going above and beyond, if you ask me. Most places would just say no, or ignore the email. Made the trip all that more enjoyable! Thanks guys!
