Peg stands out as the heart of these tours, consistently praised for her patience, professionalism, and ability to tailor instruction to different skill levels. Reviewers repeatedly mention how she made nervous beginners feel comfortable and helped everyone from kids to anxious adults get up on paddleboards successfully. Beyond the excellent teaching, guests appreciate her thorough safety orientation, the stunning photos she captures during tours, and her helpful recommendations for restaurants and local activities. Other guides like Chris, Stephie, and Brittany also receive glowing mentions for their expertise and warm approach. The turtle sightings during snorkeling portions seem to be a regular highlight, along with occasional encounters with whales, dolphins, and even monk seals depending on the season. Families especially rave about the private tour format, which allows guides to work at everyone's pace without the pressure of keeping up with a larger group. One particularly touching review highlighted how accommodating the team was with a special needs family member, demonstrating genuine flexibility and understanding. The early morning time slots appear particularly magical, with calmer waters and better conditions for both paddling and wildlife viewing.
Peg was super helpful. We didn’t even have a tour booked with her or Paddle On. We rolled up at Makena Landing, gave her a call, and she just lent us a couple pairs of snorkels along with advice. Then she gave us the skinny on good equipment rentals and a great spot to the south for easygoing snorkeling. No money exchanged hands. She was just super kind and helpful because that’s how it is out here.
