Float in blue-water springs and watch manatees up close
4 Hours
Join a responsible manatee tour in Citrus County, where you can float and let manatees approach on their own. You can also choose to observe without swimming.
Wetsuit and mask rentals can be accommodated, but bringing your own gear is recommended for comfort. Bring cash for tips and any additional expenses, plus your card for the charter payment.
If weather is not conducive, the captain will try to accommodate you on a different trip that day or reschedule. If the captain makes a complete weather cancellation, your date will be rescheduled promptly or your deposit refunded.
Bring layered clothing (lightweight, moisture-wicking shirts and quick-dry pants or shorts) plus a windbreaker or lightweight jacket for cooler mornings or windy conditions. Bring a hat, sunglasses, and non-slip shoes.
Use reef-safe sunscreen with a high SPF. If you get motion sickness, take medication the night before.
Bring snacks and beverages other than water so you have enough food and drinks to stay energized throughout the day.
