What makes this snorkeling experience stand out is the intimate six-person maximum on the boat, which reviewers rave about compared to crowded tour boats. Families and couples consistently mention getting what feels like a private tour, especially during low season. The crew, including captains like Zoey, Grace, and Flo, along with guides like Paul, Cedric, and Liv, earn glowing praise for being friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive to each guest's comfort level. First-time snorkelers specifically mention feeling well cared for and never rushed. The wildlife sightings are consistently impressive. Nearly every review mentions seeing sea turtles up close, with frequent bonus encounters including spinner dolphins, spotted eagle rays, octopus, and colorful reef fish. The guides seem to know exactly where to find marine life and take time to point out different species. Families traveling with kids as young as seven had great experiences, and the crew accommodates various skill levels, even helping nervous swimmers feel confident in the water.
We joined this tour as a couple visiting from Japan, and to conclude in one word – it was an amazing experience! I honestly feel like we may never again have the chance to encounter so many sea turtles in one place. As others have written in their reviews, we saw countless turtles! ⭐️ The Activity •The jet boat ride itself was like an attraction, speeding across the water like a banana boat. It was so much fun and felt amazing! While heading out, we enjoyed the view of Waikiki’s hotels and Diamond Head in the distance, and before we knew it, we had arrived. They even took photos for us near Diamond Head at the start. •Once we reached the turtle spot, our guide first dove in to check conditions, then we followed. Even if you’re not confident at swimming, the fins and the float (which the guide pulled along) made it easy to get to the destination. •Turtle Canyon had other tours around, so it was a bit crowded, but our guide Liv was great at spotting turtles nearby and calling us over, so we got to see many that weren’t surrounded by people. •We swam above turtles, watched them come up for air right next to us, and truly saw more turtles than we could count. One highlight was a spot locals call the “sleeping rock,” where about seven turtles were resting together—an incredible sight! (see photos) •The guide also shared fun facts like “that one’s a boy because of its long tail,” and even dove to bring up a sea urchin for us to hold. Thanks to the guide, we learned and experienced so much. •They frequently checked in with us—“Are you okay? Tired?”—so everyone could enjoy the activity without pushing themselves. Overall, it was truly the best experience. Thank you so much!
