⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If I could give this experience 100 stars, I would. We’ve done a lot of tours while traveling, but the luncheon tour at the Hawaiian Vanilla Company completely blew us away. It wasn’t just the best tour we experienced on the Big Island—it was one of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had. The biggest reason? Zak. I’ve met a lot of tour guides over the years, but Zak is in a league of his own. From the moment we arrived, he made everyone feel like family. He was warm, funny, engaging, and genuinely connected with every single guest. You could tell he wasn’t reciting a script—he was sharing something he truly loves. His knowledge of vanilla farming is incredible. He explained every step of the process with so much passion and enthusiasm that you couldn’t help but become fascinated. It’s obvious he takes tremendous pride in what he does, and that passion is contagious. By the end of the tour, we walked away with a completely new appreciation for vanilla and the unbelievable amount of care that goes into producing one of the world’s most prized spices. Then the luncheon… Wow. Just…WOW. Without exaggeration, it was some of the best food we’ve eaten anywhere on the Big Island. Every dish was creative, beautifully prepared, and perfectly showcased vanilla in ways we never thought possible. Each course was a surprise, and every bite was better than the last. What impressed us even more was the generosity of everyone at the farm. They didn’t keep their creations a secret—they happily shared many of their favorite recipes with all of us, making us feel like valued guests instead of customers. That level of hospitality is incredibly rare. This wasn’t just a tour. It was an experience filled with incredible food, amazing people, genuine aloha, and an unforgettable education. We laughed, learned, ate far too much (without a single regret), and left with memories we’ll be talking about for years. If you’re visiting the Big Island and wondering what experiences are actually worth your time and money, stop searching. Book this tour. Book the luncheon. Ask for Zak. It’s one of those rare experiences that reminds you why you travel in the first place. Absolutely unforgettable. An easy 100/10.
