Itinerary
- Welcome & Overview Arrive at Kona Salt Farm, enjoy oceanfront views and a welcome deep ocean magnesium mineral water, and meet your guide for a brief orientation. Learn about our site, the Hawaii Ocean Science Technology Park and some of the fascinating projects around us.
- Brief Walk to our Shoreline Learn about Deep Ocean Water and its travel story and how it is brought ashore. Hear of Hawaii’s cultural traditions of pa‘akai (salt).
- Guided Farm Walk We walk to the salt making area and into our hot house and learn about the salt crystallization process, the knowledge that goes into salt making and the different variations the solar evaporation process produces
- Ocean Stewardship You will briefly learn about some of the ocean care projects your visit supports.
- Salt Tasting Taste our 13 pure, flavored, and smoked Kona salts with a little selection of fruits and veggies.
- Optional Add-On: Deep Ocean Water Foot Soak (20 minutes) Relax in our shaded ocean view cabana with a 47 degree cold, mineral-rich deep ocean foot soak, the perfect finish to your visit.

Bring sunscreen or a coverup if you are sensitive to the sun, and wear comfortable shoes. You’ll be outdoors for about 30 minutes in one of the sunniest spots in the Hawaiian Islands.
The tour is only partially wheelchair accessible. You’ll walk to the shore for a few minutes and go up to the upper salt deck; the rest of the tour is accessible. ADA restrooms and parking are available.
