Hyatt Regency Waikīkī Beach Resort And Spa
This lei-themed hula show delivers an authentic Hawaiian experience that consistently wins over visitors. Guests rave about the charismatic MC whose storytelling and vocals bring Hawaiian culture to life, backed by an incredibly talented live band and dancers who radiate genuine joy and passion for their craft. The terrace setting overlooking Waikiki Beach at sunset creates a magical, intimate atmosphere where special occasions get celebrated with personal touches like bringing anniversary couples on stage. The buffet impresses with highlights like endless crab legs and prime rib, offering variety for everyone in your group. A few visitors experienced significant entry delays, with VIP guests being prioritized while others waited 30-45 minutes past the stated start time. This seems to be an occasional organizational hiccup rather than the norm, but it's worth arriving prepared. Once inside though, the show itself earns universal praise for showcasing traditional and classical hula you won't find at typical luaus. The warm, welcoming vibe from the aunties who greet you to the playful interaction during performances makes you feel like you're celebrating with friends rather than watching from the sidelines.
Wheelchair accessible. Buffet is on the same floor as the performance. You have to navigate between tables of Hyatt Buffet diners, but there is plenty of room. Hosts were very accommodating. Wonderful live music, dancing, and storytelling. Buffet food was 5-star with the Hawaiian and seafood as standouts. Highly recommend! If you go on a Monday or Wednesday, the farmers market is going on downstairs prior to the lu'au. Great fresh fruit, jam, and donuts.
