Kayak class II+ rapids on the Weber River with a guide
2 - 2.5 hours
Guide, gear, river shuttle
Paddle an inflatable kayak down the Weber River on a guided run from Henefer to Taggart. You’ll get a safety talk, gear, and tips as you take on class II+ rapids.
Suggested for intermediate or more advanced paddlers. Single kayaks require age 12+; children ages 4–11 may ride in front of a tandem kayak with an experienced paddler. An extra guide fee of $150 applies if a child goes in a tandem kayak with a guide, and tips are not included (15%–25% customary).
Small private groups: full refund with 7 days' notice. Full refund if the operator cancels due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. No-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable. Large/corporate/custom: 50% refundable up to 7 days before the trip.
Arrive 30 minutes before your trip start time so you can check in, get fitted with a life jacket and paddle, and attend the safety talk. Late arrivals are usually not accommodated and are non-refundable.
Wear lightweight, quick-drying clothes (long sleeves and long pants or capris are recommended) and water sandals (closed-toe recommended) or old athletic shoes; avoid flip-flops. Bring a hat, sunglasses, a full non-breakable water bottle with a clip, any needed medications (and tell your guide), and layers like a rain jacket or fleece depending on conditions. Leave most items in your car since anything you bring on the river can get wet, lost, or broken.
Tips are not included; 15%–25% gratuity is customary. For groups of 6 or more, optional add-ons include transportation and meal options (each priced separately). If a child ages 4–11 rides in a tandem kayak with a guide, an extra guide fee of $150 applies.
Henefer
Destination Sports consistently earns praise for its exceptional guides who clearly love what they do. Reviewers mention guides by name again and again—Rachel, Lars, Trixie, Dawna, Oz, and Donna all get shout-outs for being knowledgeable, friendly, and skilled at making trips memorable. The crew seems genuinely passionate about sharing outdoor experiences, from river rafting to snowshoeing, and that enthusiasm translates into fun, safe adventures. The rafting trips deserve a quick reality check: this is mellow, scenic floating rather than intense whitewater rapids. One reviewer described it as "a lazy river with a couple bumps," which sets appropriate expectations. That said, families and first-timers absolutely love it, and the beautiful scenery along the Weber River combined with engaging guides makes it a hit. Equipment rentals get solid marks too, with easy pickup and drop-off logistics. The overall vibe is welcoming and accommodating, perfect for travelers wanting a relaxed outdoor experience in the Park City area without major adrenaline or technical difficulty.
Great people, and fun trip! Rachel was a great guide. We had a ton of fun in her boat. If you’re looking for “white water” rafting this isn’t it, but it was still a really fun time. It’s more of a a lazy river with a couple bumps but she made it a great time!
