Up To You
Joe and Tim are the two guides most travelers will encounter here, and both have earned genuinely glowing praise across the board. Reviewers consistently highlight their wildlife-spotting instincts as a standout quality, with guests regularly encountering grizzlies, black bears, moose, elk, and bison on their tours. The guides seem to know the parks intimately, steering groups toward the right spots at the right times rather than following a rigid script. What comes through repeatedly is how personal the experience feels. Joe in particular gets mentioned for adapting tours to match each group's interests, tracking specific animals on request, and pulling off unforgettable moments that people describe as trip highlights. Tim earns similar praise for his depth of knowledge and ability to maximize a full day in both Yellowstone and Grand Teton. The booking process also gets a nod, with at least one group coordinating everything remotely before arriving and finding it completely hassle-free. If you're weighing whether a guided tour is worth it in this region, the consistent takeaway here is that having someone who knows where to look makes an enormous difference. Bear spray and binocular rentals are also available if you need gear. Across all the reviews, there's virtually nothing negative surfacing, which is telling in itself.
We set up our tour with Ascension from Ohio before we arrived at Jackson Hole. From beginning to end it was seamless. Our tour guide Joe was prompt the day of our tour and did such an amazing job! He was very knowledgeable and knew exactly where to go for us to see all of Yellowstone and the best areas to visit in the park. He was amazing at finding and spotting wildlife, we saw a grizzly bear and their cub, and black bear, bison , elk and moose and all kinds of birds. Would highly recommend this tour and ask for Joe!!!!
