The Napa Valley Vine Trail is part of an ambitious long-term plan to create a continuous 47-mile paved path running the full length of Napa Valley, from the city of Napa north to Calistoga. The completed southern segment already draws thousands of visitors and locals each year who come for the rare chance to explore Wine Country without a car.

Along the route, riders pass working vineyards, wetland preserves, and the meandering Napa River. Interpretive signs offer context on the valley's agricultural history and the ecology of its riparian corridors, adding depth to what might otherwise feel like a simple bike ride.

The trail connects several of Napa Valley's most visited communities, making it practical as well as scenic. Yountville, the southern terminus of the main completed segment, is known for its concentration of acclaimed restaurants and walkable village atmosphere.
