Shawn and Gwendolyn were excellent guides. I loved that they were professionals in their field and shared their knowledge with us. This was not a typical underground walk- no paved path, handrails, lights, but rather walking through the mine as miners would have with only the light from the group’s helmet. This was outside of my usual comfort zone, but the two guides were so patient and skilled that you felt comfortable trying something new.
