Speedboat NYC sightseeing with photo stops and live narration
1 hour
Seat, Live narration, Jacket
Ride a 60-minute speedboat tour from Chelsea Piers Marina and see New York City from the water with plenty of time for photos. Your U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain narrates in English and stops near major landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty.
Tours run with a 4-passenger minimum. Children must be with a parent or guardian, and the boat is not recommended for pregnant women or anyone with back problems. Tips are not included—clarify the expected amount with Greetwell before booking.
No refunds within 24 hours of scheduled departure. No refund for no-shows. Full refund if the tour is cancelled due to weather.
Arrive 15 minutes before departure for check-in and the mandatory safety briefing.
Wear flat shoes (no high heels). Regular street clothes work, but it can feel cooler on the water—bring a light jacket. In March, April, October, and November, dress extra warm and bring a hat, gloves, and warm shoes.
Bring children only if they ride with a parent or guardian. The boats are not suited for all small children; if your child is under 4 years old, confirm suitability before you book.
Speedboats, stunning skyline views, and genuinely enthusiastic captains seem to be the recurring theme across these reviews. Guests consistently rave about captains like Bryant, Eric, and Mack, who bring real knowledge and warmth to every tour. The experience covers serious ground, from the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island to the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, all while hitting speeds that apparently get the adrenaline going. Repeat visitors are a telling sign here, with multiple reviewers coming back years later and calling it their favorite NYC activity. Families, solo travelers, and even lifelong New Yorkers all seem to walk away impressed. One minor note worth knowing: seating is first-come, first-served, so groups wanting to sit together should board early. Beyond that, this one earns its glowing reputation pretty consistently.
This was our 2nd time on the New York Media Boat Tour and it (once again) did not disappoint!! This time we brought our kids and even though we were the only ones on the boat and it was a little chilly, Captain Eric made sure we had the best time ever! We got to see all of Manhattan, go under the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, see Ellis Island and the Governors Island and capped it off getting within 100 yards of Lady Liberty herself. We experienced all of that while hitting speeds of 30 MPH and catching some serious air while we hit the waves of the Hudson River. Seriously so epic! If you’re looking for a thrill ride mixed with a history lesson and scenic tour of all of the NYC sights - look no further!
