3.5-5-Hour Broad River Kayak Trip

Paddle down the Broad River and finish back at the Sandbar. Rent a kayak or bring your own for a shuttle-only trip.

• Change and shower at the Sandbar after your paddle
• Pack an outfit that can get wet and a change of clothes
• Pack sunscreen, beverages, and a snack in a cooler or container that straps to your kayak

Itinerary

PLEASE READ AS OPERATIONS HAVE CHANGED!! Due to limited capacity, crew, and equipment, we are reservation-only in 2026.

• Arrive at the Sandbar gate (3435 King Hall Mill Road Bowman, GA US 30624) at the time of your reservation. Park on the right-side of the road, leaving room for other traffic to pass. Try to be a few minutes early. If you're running late text us at (706) 205-0427 and hope we have service! We'll wait a few minutes, but won't keep other guests waiting long. We recommend carpooling to reduce traffic and help things go quicker. Bear in mind that the road down to the Sandbar is unpaved and hilly!
• When you arrive, the gate will be locked but we will come confirm your reservation and let you through.
• Drive down to the Sandbar, park in a designated parking area and get ready for your trip.
• Once all parties have arrived and are ready we will shuttle you to the put-in where your trip will begin.
• You'll be largely in control of how long your trip is, but plan for at least 3.5 hours. If water levels are higher it can be quicker! Return to the Sandbar by 7pm to avoid late fees.

IN THE CASE OF EXTREMELY HIGH / LOW RIVER LEVELS OR LIGHTNING, WE WILL CANCEL AND REFUND YOUR BOOKING

Important details

• Children must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult
• Requires paddling and maneuvering a kayak and standing to pull it over low rocky spots
• Kayak capacity is up to 250 lbs at regular water levels and decreases when water is low
• Leave glass items at home
