With a perfect track record across hundreds of reviews, this guide service consistently delivers exceptional outdoor education and adventures. Guides like John (the owner), Adam, Nate, Dan, and Chris earn praise for being both incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely fun to be around. Reviewers appreciate how these professionals balance safety with an approachable teaching style that makes complex topics like avalanche safety and technical climbing accessible to newcomers. The small student-to-teacher ratios really shine through in the feedback, especially for avalanche courses where people felt they received personalized attention while learning critical skills. Families and groups mention smooth communication during booking and guides who adapt well to mixed ability levels, from kids to seniors. Instructors create an open atmosphere where questions are encouraged, and they push students to think independently rather than just following along. Several people specifically mention feeling comfortable during dangerous conditions because their guides took time to explain decision-making processes, not just bark orders.
I attended an SPI course at the City of Rocks. Adam Fleming was my instructor, and I was very impressed. The course was given with excellent structure and timing. Adam has a depth of knowledge that was very apparent.
