1245 Tongass Avenue Ketchikan, AK 99901
This restaurant has earned its reputation as Ketchikan's top dining destination, with guests consistently praising the exceptional food quality and jaw-dropping waterfront views. The menu delivers on everything from perfectly executed halibut and curry cod to elk Wellington and memorable clam chowder. Diners rave about the pistachio halibut in particular, though the entire menu seems to hit the mark. The setting strikes a nice balance, offering a respite from the downtown tourist bustle while remaining an easy walk from the cruise port. Service gets solid marks for attentiveness, and the atmosphere works well for both special occasions and casual meals. A few diners note the noise level can be high when busy, and there's been occasional mention of pricing feeling steep for what you receive. Seating delays have happened even with reservations, though most guests seem willing to overlook minor hiccups given the overall experience. The breathtaking views and consistently delicious food make this a standout choice for visitors looking to experience Ketchikan's culinary scene at its best.
What a cool place! We watched float planes land and take off and learn some very cool history. We did the bush pilots lunch and had an absolute TON of delicious Alaskan treats. Best food we’ve had so far in all of Alaska. Appetizer bites, AMAZING smoked clam chowder, a tasting portion of halibut ceviche, smoked salmon, and other local cuisines, and an ice cream with local spruce pine toppings for dessert- not to mention all this for the same amount of money we spent on two breakfast sandwiches and coffees elsewhere (🤦♀️🤷♀️) General Manager Jess was SUPERB and made it such a personable, small town, and comfortable experience. Very thankful for our time here!
