Beginner Scuba Dive at Casino Point, Catalina Island

Try scuba diving in Catalina's open ocean with a Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) professional alongside you throughout. No previous scuba experience is necessary for this introduction to diving, which is an experience rather than a certification course.

• Practice breathing underwater before heading out to explore
• Learn how to communicate with your instructor underwater
• Explore Catalina's kelp forest habitat and look for marine life

Important details

• Ages 10+ only
• Swimming ability and comfort in deep, open-ocean water are required. You won't be able to stand during the shallow-water practice
• Requires walking down the Casino stairs into the ocean
• English fluency is required; bilingual instruction is not available
• Medical clearance is required. Depending on your medical questionnaire answers, physician approval may be needed before you can dive
• Register with PADI and complete the e-learning, waiver, and medical questionnaire before arrival
• Cameras are not allowed during the dive
• Do not use drugs or alcohol before or during the experience. You may be denied participation if you appear to be under the influence
