Float the lower Rio Grande through Big Bend canyon country on a guided river trip. Your route is selected based on current water conditions and may explore a range of canyon sections.
This full-day tour meets at 8:00am in Terlingua or 9:30am in the national park if arranged manually by phone. Once we meet, guests will be given all necessary safety and boating equipment and will receive a safety speech covering the river and paddling techniques needed to navigate this mellow and stunning section of the Rio Grande.
After lunch, your group will continue on the river get off the river by 3-3:30. Groups can expect to be back in Terlingua by 4-4:30.
Cancel more than 2 weeks before your trip for a refund minus 10% of trip cost. Cancel less than 2 weeks before and forfeit 50% of trip cost. Cancel within 24 hours or no-show and receive no refund.
Meet at 8:00am in Terlingua at Further Adventures Office and Desert Sports Bike Shop, or at 9:30am in the National Park if your full-day float takes place there. Trip locations vary with water conditions, so if you have not been manually confirmed for an alternative meeting place, plan to meet in Terlingua at 8:00am.
If your trip takes place in the National Park, park entrance is not included. Bring your park pass or be prepared to purchase one on the way into the park.
Bring a hat, sunscreen, a water bottle, and sturdy shoes you do not mind getting wet. Wear sun-protective layers (like long pants and a long-sleeve shirt), and bring a dry change of clothes for after the trip.
