A family-friendly Rio Grande paddle through remote Chihuahuan Desert scenery
About 8 hours
Lunch, safety and boating gear
Explore the remote Chihuahuan Desert by river on a mellow outing suited to families and first-time paddlers.
This full-day tour meets at 8:00am in Terlingua, or 9:30 at Rio Grande Village in Big Bend National Park. Once we meet, guests will be given all necessary safety and boating equipment and will receive a safety speech covering the river and paddling techniques needed to navigate this mellow and stunning section of the Rio Grande. Your group will paddle your way downstream enjoying the sweeping scenic vistas, have lunch at Langford Hotsprings, and end the day with a paddle through Hot Springs Canyon.
We will plan to be back at the parking lot around 3:30. Groups can expect to be back in Terlingua by 4:30-5pm.
