300 Clifton in Minneapolis
This family-run trolley operation has carved out something special in the city's tour scene, and reviewers can't stop raving about the energy and personality of their guides. The husband-and-wife team clearly pours heart into the business, with multiple mentions of mom greeting guests at the stunning Pillsbury Club mansion where tours begin. What stands out most is how entertaining the guides are – they're described as hilarious, high-energy, and naturally engaging, mixing Minneapolis history with ghost stories in a way that keeps everyone interested whether they're locals or international visitors. The candlelight ghost tour seems particularly popular, with guests loving that they actually get off the trolley to explore haunted locations rather than just driving past. The enthusiasm does come with one significant caveat though. The trolley's bench seating is genuinely cramped, with even average-height passengers finding their knees pressed uncomfortably against the seat ahead for the 90-minute journey. One reviewer suggests the tour would benefit dramatically from a couple of photo stops, which would both break up the discomfort and let passengers capture what they're seeing – especially helpful for those stuck on side-facing benches who struggle to view attractions on both sides. That said, the overwhelming majority still rate it five stars and plan to return for other tours, suggesting the personality and content outweigh the physical discomfort for most people. The mansion itself is being renovated to include a bar and additional haunted tours upstairs, which has guests excited to come back.
