Grant and his team have built a loyal following among tubers and rafters looking for personalized service without the big-outfitter price tag. Repeat customers rave about the quality equipment, especially the comfortable tubes with solid bottoms, and the knowledgeable guides who stay attentive throughout trips. The staff genuinely seems to care about making each float memorable, greeting guests warmly and helping everyone find the right setup for their skill level. The peaceful stretches of river offer scenic, relaxing floats where you might spot wildlife and enjoy having the water mostly to yourselves. Most trips run smoothly with efficient logistics and timely pickups. However, there have been occasional hiccups with pickup timing, and it's worth noting the location has moved to Todd, NC, so confirm the current address when booking. One important heads-up: if you're considering the Watauga rafting trip, several guests found it much calmer than expected, more of a leisurely float than an adrenaline-pumping whitewater adventure, so set your expectations accordingly.
Scott & Sharon here and no we aren’t a close relatives or getting paid to tell you about the experiences we’ve had. But we’ve absolutely found our NEW RIVER GO-TO! A little backstory first. Our family has been canoeing the New River for YEARS with Wahoo, and always thought the high prices from the big budget outfitters were just “how it is.” Spoiler alert: ITS NOT. We finally gave River and Earth a try — and WOW what a difference!! Not only were the rates way better (we’re talking 30% less for the same trip!), but Grant puts heart and soul into making sure your day on the river is unforgettable. Ok so they don’t have a big building, but we’re not driving 2 hours one way to tour the bathhouse! What we want is: - Clean, quality gear - Super quick service - And a five-star stretch of the New River that’s peaceful, scenic, and just plain awesome!!! We’re so hooked now and paddle with Grant twice a month weather permiting. Seriously, call these guys. — you won’t regret it!! ❤️❤️❤️
