- Requires walking 6 miles on flat pavement or 5 miles on uneven rolling terrain over 4 hours
- Requires good balance and comfort walking on slippery terrain with micro-spikes
- Includes steep and hilly trail sections
- Not suitable for cardiac, respiratory, joint, or other serious medical conditions that could affect participation
- Complete an individual participation agreement before the hike; a parent or guardian must sign for minors
- Arrive 15 minutes early at the Dena'ina Center for non-private transportation
- Hikes operate in snow or shine; severe weather may cancel the hike
- Hotel pickup for non-private bookings is available for an additional $25 and is not included in the listed price
Cancellation Policy
Receive a full refund when you cancel more than 2 weeks before your hike. Receive a 75% refund 48 hours to 2 weeks before. No refund within 48 hours or for no-shows. If the hike is canceled for severe weather or safety concerns and no alternate route is available, receive a full refund.
FAQs
Solo travelers are welcome, but the hike requires at least 2 people to operate. If you are the only hiker within 24 hours of departure, you can move to another date, upgrade to a private hike, or cancel for a full refund.
Bring a rain jacket, rain pants, and boots you do not mind getting wet or muddy.
