Hala Tree Coffee Farm 82-5810 Napoopoo Road Captain Cook, HI 96704 Big Island, Hawaii
This coffee farm delivers an impressively personable experience that visitors consistently rave about. The free tours are compact but packed with information, covering everything from picking methods to different processing techniques and what makes Kona coffee special. Guides like Margaret and Marissa clearly know their stuff and present it in a friendly, engaging way that makes the complex roasting and development process accessible to everyone. The setting itself adds to the appeal, with beautiful views stretching down to the ocean from the tasting lanai and coffee plants climbing the slopes. Visitors appreciate the generous sampling both before and after tours, with many guests mentioning the coffee flight option that lets you explore their different blends. The laid-back, welcoming vibe seems to stick with people, and several reviewers noted it felt more intimate than other coffee tour options on the island. Expect to leave both educated about coffee cultivation and likely loaded up with bags to take home or send as gifts.
I totally recommend visiting this place if you want to know more about the Kona coffee harvesting and processing and taste their different varieties. The place is managed by very nice and thoughtful people and the views are amazing!
