Popp's has built a loyal following among hunters, anglers, and anyone seeking a quiet Northwoods retreat. Guests consistently praise the spotless cleanliness and cozy accommodations, whether you're staying in a motel room or one of the cabins. The staff, particularly Donna, Becky, and Leon, get glowing mentions for being genuinely warm and attentive without hovering. People appreciate how they check in regularly to make sure everything's just right. The location is a major draw for outdoor enthusiasts, with excellent access to ATV trails and boat rentals that come with helpful fishing maps. Many visitors return year after year during hunting and fishing seasons, finding the rooms spacious and well-equipped, even if some furnishings show their age. A bonus: Rene's restaurant right across the street earns rave reviews for exceptional food and drinks, with the soup and salad bar being a particular highlight. It's the kind of place where the combination of comfortable lodging, friendly faces, and beautiful surroundings keeps people coming back season after season.
Ice fishing trip: Excellent customer service, very nice and comfortable icy shanties. The only thing that could have made this visit better would have been good fishing.
