Ride a local-favorite alpine trail with guidance through the challenging sections
3–4 hrs
Up to 5 people
Guide, shuttle, snacks
Explore Durango's high-country mountain bike trails with a local guide on a ride tailored to your experience level.
This tour takes about 3-4 hours from pick up to drop off. It is best to start this tour early in the day to avoid our common evening mountain weather. You will be picked up by Durango Biking Adventures in Durango at your hotel, accommodation, or at a bike shop. From there we will drive together into the alpine of the San Juan Mountains to the trail head. This tour provides what we call "free vert"! The shuttle driver will drop you and your guide to enjoy an epic Engineer Mountain alpine mountain bike tour. You will begin the tour by pedaling up to the Engineer Mountain Meadow. Once there, we will take in the views and have a snack and water break. Then we will enjoy an epic descent! The descent requires minimal pedaling. We will stop at some must see views along the way too! At the bottom you will be greeted by the shuttle driver with snacks and cold drinks before driving back down to Durango!
