Important details
- Bring a full-featured camera with manual settings, a wide-angle lens, a solid tripod with ball head, extra batteries, and your camera manual if you plan to photograph
- Bring a red-light headlamp or flashlight, a camera-sized resealable bag, and desiccant for camera gear
- Wear clothing suitable for extreme cold, down to 40° below zero from October 15 to March 15
- Expect remote locations without amenities and optional short hikes through deep snow in extreme cold
- Do not arrive intoxicated or bring alcohol on the tour
- Accept that the operator is not responsible for loss, injury, or damage to you, your belongings, or equipment; portraits may be used in promotional materials
Cancellation Policy
No cancellations, refunds, or exchanges. Tours run in cloudy skies and when Aurora is not visible; no refunds or exchanges apply for lack of sightings. No refunds or exchanges apply if you miss your tour for any reason. Full refund or another available tour if extremely severe weather prevents safe travel. If fewer than 4 people are booked, you may reschedule or receive a refund.

Bring a manual-capable camera that can shoot long exposures at high ISO, a wide-angle lens with a maximum aperture of f/2.8 or larger, a solid tripod with a ball head, extra batteries, your camera manual, a red-light headlamp or flashlight, a large resealable plastic bag, and desiccant.
Bring clothing suitable for 40° below zero from October 15 through March 15, and 20° below zero during the rest of the Aurora season. Bring snacks or energy drinks for the long night, and plan for remote locations away from amenities.
A limited supply of rental camera equipment is available, including wide, fast lenses, tripods, and complete camera kits. Rental items must be reserved and settled before tour time.
