Itinerary
- Arrive at Headwaters Outfitters by 9:30 am to check in and meet the guide.
- At 10:00 am, shuttle 2 miles to our private launch point in Rosman, NC.
- Receive paddling instruction and safety briefing at the launch.
- Paddle approximately 8 miles (about 3 hours) downstream on Section 1 of the French Broad River.
- Return to Headwaters Outfitters and optional visit to the Forks Of The River Taproom.

Important details
- Arrive by 9:30 am, dressed and ready to paddle
- Advance reservation and deposit required
- Ages 4+ only
- Two people required per canoe or tandem kayak
- Complete a liability waiver before check-in; a legal guardian must sign for anyone under 18
- Watch the required paddling safety video before trip day
- Swimming ability required
- Wear secure shoes; flip-flops aren't allowed
- Wear a Type III life jacket at all times while on the river
- Alcohol is not allowed on river trips
- Trips operate rain or shine; departures pause during thunder or lightning
Cancellation Policy
Cancel 7+ days before your trip for a full refund; cancel 1–6 days before for a 50% refund. No refund for day-of no-call/no-shows. Receive a full refund if the operator cancels due to thunder or lightning, unsafe air or water temperatures, high winds, or high water levels.

No. Prior paddling experience is helpful but not required. Receive paddling tips and techniques before launching.
Bring drinks, snacks, or a packed lunch in a small cooler if you like. Alcohol isn't allowed on river trips, and you must pack out everything you bring.
Each guided paddling trip is limited to 10 people per guide.
