Itinerary
- Pick up at Asheville Visitor Center, 36 Montford Avenue, Asheville, NC at 8am
- Stop at Blue Ridge Parkway overlook near mile marker 306 for views of Grandfather Mountain
- Visit Grandfather Mountain State Park and walk the mile-high swinging bridge
- Visit the park exhibition and nature center and eat lunch at Mildred’s Grill (depart no later than 2:30pm)
- Drop off at Asheville Visitor Center
Important details
- Bring only items that fit safely under your seat or on your lap; coolers, chairs, and duffle bags aren’t allowed
- Leave alcohol, tobacco products, firearms, knives, and other weapons off the van; smoking and vaping aren’t allowed

Full refunds are available when you cancel at least 5 days before the trip. If the trip is canceled because of unsafe weather or minimum traveler requirements, you'll be offered an alternate date or experience, or a full refund.

An admission fee is charged for the privately owned Grandfather Mountain attraction.
Bring a water bottle, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, sunglasses, medications, and a small backpack that fits under your seat. Wear comfortable clothing and non-slip shoes; bring a light jacket in spring and fall.
Bring a packed lunch if you prefer not to eat at Mildred's Grill. Bring spending money for lunch and visitor centers.
