    4.8 stars• 360 reviews

    Duration

    5 hrs

    Includes

    E-bike, kayak & snorkeling gear

    Highlights

Explore the Mokulua Islands with a guide on an active e-bike and kayak outing. Enjoy a personalized experience with gear, permits, and refreshments arranged for you.

    • Enjoy personalized guidance from an experienced guide
    • Carry essentials in a complimentary 15-liter dry bag
    • Savor included lunch and shave ice
    • Follow conservation practices in the State Wildlife Sanctuary

    Itinerary

Please meet at the Kailua Storefront to check-in 30 minutes before your tour starts.

    • Here you’ll meet your guide and receive a safety demo, description of the route, kayaking lessons, and a brief cultural history.

    • From there we will guide you through using the e-bike and provide you with all the necessary equipment to have fun, including lifejackets.

    • We will quickly pack up and head to Hamakua Marsh, right across from our storefront. Talk about venturing off the beaten path, this hidden wildlife sanctuary is a true gem. Native, endangered birds are found here. Keep an eye out for the four endemic waterbird species: ‘Alae ‘Ula, Ae’o, ‘Alae Ke’o Ke’o, and Koloa Maoli. You’ll also find Mallard ducks, Cardinals, Mynah Birds, Bulbuls, Sparrows, and Doves.

    • You will then ride to Kailua Beach Park ( 7 minute ride) with your guide and then meet your guide in the water with your kayak and gear where your tour will begin.

    • Your guide will direct you how to get in and out of your kayak safely and how to paddle effectively.

    • If you’re feeling adventurous you may be able to stop at Popoia island on the way to Moku Nui as well as stop at Lanikai beach to snorkel, just ask your guide.

    • On the way out to the mokes your guide will explain the local cultural and historical significance of these islands as well as the animal life that call them home. Maybe even seeing a sea turtle or a monk seal.

    • Once on Moku Nui island your guide will help you explore and hike around, visiting queen's bath and its surrounding tidepools and possibly the back side of the island if the weather permits. This is a great opportunity to stop and take in the scenery while enjoying some of the provided water and snacks included with the tour.

    • As you head back on your kayak you will get spectacular views of Kailua Bay and Lanikai and talk story with your guide about this special place.

    • When you return to Kailua beach you will simply strap the kayak back on your car and meet the guide at the Kailua Storefront where you will be able to take any last minute photos!

    Admission included

Paddling out from Lanikai Beach, you catch your first full view of Na Mokulua rising from the Pacific, their green ridgelines sharp against the sky. The two islets sit close enough to feel reachable yet remote enough to feel like a true escape. Na Mokulua reward those who make the crossing with a small crescent beach, crystalline shallows, and the quiet company of nesting seabirds. Few places on Oahu offer this combination of raw coastline and accessible solitude.

The crew here absolutely nails the laid-back vibe that makes renting kayaks and paddleboards feel effortless rather than like a chore. Michael, Kyle, and Ethan get called out by name repeatedly for going beyond basic customer service. They're the kind of guys who'll share local apple bananas, help you figure out how to strap kayaks onto a tiny rental car without disaster, and actually give you useful advice about where to paddle. People mention heading out to Moku Island (Mokoli'i) and the sandbar as popular destinations, with the guides offering clear instructions that make first-timers feel comfortable tackling ocean kayaking even if they've never done it before. What really stands out is how chill and accommodating the team is when things don't go according to plan. Running late because of traffic? They're understanding as long as you call. Friend gets sick the night before? They'll process a refund without hassle. One group even got treated to island snacks including fresh poke and pineapple after their tour. The equipment itself gets solid marks, arriving in good shape and including snorkel gear with rentals. Whether you're looking for an affordable DIY kayak rental or want to join a guided tour on e-bikes pulling kayaks to Kailua, the consistent theme is stress-free service from genuinely nice people who make the experience memorable for the right reasons.

Mario was so accommodating and friendly. He was very responsive over the phone and communicated very effectively throughout the whole process. We booked a 3 person kayak and had a great efficient experience with active Oahu. This is a very honest local business. Mahalo!
