What should you bring or wear?

Bring an umbrella, rain poncho or sun screen (as appropriate), a hat, comfortable footwear, and a fully charged camera/phone. Consider motion sickness medication if needed (each ferry ride is about 10 minutes).

How does weather affect the experience?

The tour operates rain or shine, and there’s no shelter from weather during the tour, so dress for New York City conditions. If the tour is canceled due to severe and potentially dangerous weather, you’ll be offered the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.

Admission included

Standing at the edge of New York Harbor, Ellis Island greets you with the same hushed gravity it offered millions of arrivals over a century ago. The red-brick and limestone facade rises above the water, a monument to one of the most consequential chapters in American history. Walking through the restored Registry Room at Ellis Island, you feel the weight of those journeys in the vaulted tile ceilings and worn wooden benches. It is a place where the abstract story of immigration becomes deeply personal.
