Haleakala
The Haleakala downhill bike tour draws rave reviews from families and casual riders who love the leisurely pace and knowledgeable guides like Matias, Remi, and Evie. These guides clearly know the area well and make safety a priority while sharing local insights and creating a fun atmosphere. The shop also offers high-quality Trek and e-bike rentals for those wanting to explore independently, with staff going above and beyond to ensure proper fit and providing helpful route recommendations. One experienced cyclist noted the tour caters more to casual riders than serious cyclists, mentioning the bikes are set up primarily for downhill and involve shuttle segments between riding portions. There's also one concerning safety incident mentioned involving brake failure in rainy conditions. That said, the overwhelming majority of recent guests had fantastic experiences and describe the downhill ride as a must-do Maui activity. The Paia location earns consistent praise for friendly service, well-maintained equipment, and staff who genuinely care about helping customers have memorable adventures on the island.
Very patient, cool staff who explain and and conduct the whole process super professionally. Pierre is the man and Lizzy was super informative, attentive, and made the time in the van fly by. Overall a must-do experience with great people, solid equipment, and incredible views. Also: i won.
