Itinerary
- Check-In at Paʻia Shop (8:45 AM) Arrive at Maui Sunriders in Paʻia for a warm welcome, gear fitting, and safety briefing. You’ll receive a high-performance bike, full-face or lightweight helmet, gloves, rain/wind gear, and backpack with a lock and map.
- Scenic Van Tour to 6,500 Feet Enjoy a narrated 45-minute drive up Haleakalā. Your guide will share local history, volcanic landscapes, cultural insights, and tips for exploring Upcountry Maui.
- Self-Guided Bike Ride – First Lap Start your ride at 6,500 feet, just outside Haleakalā National Park. Cruise the upper switchbacks at your own pace, stopping for photos and to soak in panoramic ocean and valley views.
- Second Lap – Repeat the Scenic Section Re-load and ride the same iconic 6.5-mile section again for a total of 13 miles of exhilarating downhill fun.
- Shuttle to Lāhainā Brewing Co. Upcountry Taproom After biking, enjoy a 15-minute shuttle to the taproom for a 1-hour tasting, including one drink. Guests under 21 can enjoy non-alcoholic beverages. Local food trucks are available next door for optional lunch.
- Scenic Shuttle Return via Haliʻimaile Take a 20-minute scenic shuttle back to Paʻia, winding through the lush Upcountry town of Haliʻimaile with sweeping valley and ocean views. Bikes are returned at our Paʻia shop around 1:30 PM, concluding the tour.

Important details
- Arrive by 8:45 AM; arriving after 9 AM may mean you cannot join the tour
- Ages 15+ only
- Riders under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
- Minimum height is 4 ft 11 in
- Weight limit is 280 lbs
- Requires confident, competent cycling skills and experience using disc brakes
- Not suitable for beginner riders, pregnant women, or people with impaired mobility
- Ride on country roads shared with cars and navigate switchbacks while staying to the right
Cancellation Policy
Cancel at least 48 hours before check-in for a refund. Parties of 8 or more must cancel at least 72 hours before check-in. No refunds for late cancellations or no-shows. If the operator cancels due to severe weather, low participation, or mechanical failure, you may reschedule or receive a full refund.

FAQs
Yes. You ride on country roads shared with cars, with switchbacks and turns. Because the route is almost entirely downhill, you need to be a competent, confident cyclist with experience using disc brakes. This tour is not for beginner riders.
Wear closed-toe shoes and dress in light layers. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, water, and a camera. Bring cash for food, possible shopping, and singles for fruit stands. Bring a rain jacket if you have one (rain gear is also included), and consider a change of clothes for after the ride.
No. Meals are not provided. You can buy drinks and snacks at the shop, and you can get food during the stop at the taproom where food trucks are located next door (optional, on your own).
