Explore Harlem's cultural landmarks and feel live gospel music
Guided walking tour, Gospel service
Discover Harlem's cultural heritage on a guided neighborhood walk and experience the soulful sounds of gospel music. View iconic sites like the Apollo Theater, Abyssinian Baptist Church, the Schomburg Center, Striver’s Row, and Hotel Theresa before attending a local church service.
This tour is not wheelchair-accessible. Out of respect for the congregation, dress modestly and avoid flip-flops, tank tops, or shorts. Please arrive 15 minutes early; tours run rain or shine and include staying for the full church service.
Tickets are non-refundable. Cancellation or rescheduling requests less than 48 hours before departure are not accepted. Requests must be submitted in writing. No-shows may be charged or have passes scanned.

This tour company clearly knows how to deliver memorable NYC experiences, with guides who consistently get glowing praise for their knowledge and enthusiasm. Joseph K and Sergio stand out repeatedly in reviews, with visitors describing them as passionate, informative, and genuinely talented at keeping groups engaged even in challenging conditions like massive holiday crowds or freezing weather. The tours span diverse experiences from Harlem gospel services to Brooklyn Bridge walks to Christmas lights, and guides are available in multiple languages including Spanish and French. What really sets them apart is the flexibility and attention to detail. They handle everything from virtual workplace presentations to customized multi-borough tours, and reviewers emphasize how well-organized everything feels. The gospel experience seems particularly popular, though one visitor noted their specific church service lacked the gospel music they expected (possibly weather-related). The company works with city passes like Explorer Pass, making booking convenient. With guides who clearly love what they do and an owner who builds tours around genuine passion for NYC's neighborhoods, you're likely to get an authentic, educational experience that goes beyond typical tourist surface-level content.
Inside Out Tours hosted a Virtual Tour at my workplace and it was great! Very inciteful with lots of visuals and details related to the Rights Movement and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. If anybody is looking for a way to educate a group of people virtually, I would highly recommend!
