Transport, park entry, lunch
Explore Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park and key Hilo sights on a comprehensive day tour from the Hilo side of Hawai’i Island. Visit major lookouts, drive scenic roads, and stop at Rainbow Falls and Akaka Falls with lunch included.
This tour departs only from the Hilo side and does not pick up from the Kona side. Volcanic fumes can be hazardous; it is not recommended for guests with heart or breathing conditions.
Cancel more than 48 hours before departure for a full refund. Cancel within 48 hours or no-show: full charges apply. Refund claims must be made within 30 days of the service date. No refunds for cancellations due to reasons outside of their control (weather, force majeure, etc.).
Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes for sharp, uneven lava surfaces. Bring a jacket or long-sleeved shirt since Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park can be chilly, and bring a camera.
Volcanic fumes (gasses) can be hazardous. If you have heart or breathing problems, or you are pregnant, traveling with infants, or traveling with young children, avoid areas where fumes persist.
If you received a voucher or ticket when you paid for your tour, bring it to give to the driver. If you were not given a ticket, show a picture ID.

The guides here are genuinely the star of the show. Names like Kenneth, Lee, Gar, and Chelsea come up repeatedly in glowing terms, with travelers consistently praising their deep local knowledge, engaging storytelling, and warm personalities. Kenneth in particular seems to have a gift for balancing humor with genuine historical insight, and Gar once tracked down a passenger's forgotten package a full week later on his own time. That kind of dedication says a lot. Tours covering Pearl Harbor, the Road to Hana, and island-wide drives tend to be well-organized, on time, and thoughtfully paced. Included meals and pre-arranged tickets are a nice touch that takes the logistical stress out of sightseeing. A small handful of reviews mention occasional coordination hiccups, but these appear to be isolated rather than a pattern most visitors will encounter. For travelers wanting a relaxed, informative way to explore Hawaii without worrying about directions, parking, or planning, this is a solid choice. The experience rises and falls on your guide, and based on what most visitors report, you're likely in very good hands.
Our experience was A.Maz.Ing! Lehua was so awesome. We appreciated her sharing her knowledge of our Pearl Harbor trip as well as the history and culture of the Hawaii Islands. She taught us how to speak the language and shared her life story. We had a memorable experience. One We will always appreciate and cherish. Mahalo
