Jack Harter Helicopters - Lihue Airport
Pilots like Chrissy, Arthur, Mario, and Preston come up repeatedly in reviews, and for good reason. Passengers consistently describe them as knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely good at making people feel comfortable, even first-timers who arrive a little nervous. The ground crew gets high marks too, with multiple reviewers calling out friendly, organized service from check-in through takeoff. The doors-off experience is the clear crowd favorite here. Waterfalls, sea cliffs, and stretches of Kauai that simply can't be reached on foot make this a legitimate highlight-of-the-trip moment for most visitors. One thing worth knowing before you book: lighter passengers are seated in the center front seat, which some reviewers found limiting for photos and views. It's not a dealbreaker, but good to factor in when choosing your seat configuration. Weather cancellations happen on Kauai, and the company does cancel when visibility affects the experience, which most travelers seem to appreciate in hindsight. Rescheduling logistics drew some frustration in one detailed review, so if you're working around a tight itinerary, it's worth building in a buffer day. Overall though, the overwhelmingly positive feedback and the way pilots and staff are called out by name suggests this is a team that genuinely cares about the experience they're delivering.
Our helicopter tour with Jack Harter Helicopters was one of the highlights of our honeymoon! Kelena was an amazing pilot—professional, friendly, and made us feel safe the entire flight. His knowledge of Kauai and the stories he shared made the experience even more special. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend Jack Harter Helicopters and Kelena!
