Explore the Colorado Trail from the alpine down to Durango on a mountain bike ride led by a local guide. Discover the high-country terrain where local riders go to ride.
This tour starts early in the morning and takes about 5-6 hours from pick up to drop off. You will be picked up by Durango Biking Adventures in Durango at your hotel, accommodation, or at a bike shop. From there we will drive into the La Plata Mountains together to the trail head. Before even mountain biking you experience an incredible 4x4 ride! We begin the mountain bike tour on the Colorado Trail on top of Kennebec Pass. The top of Kennebec Pass is an experience on its own, with views of the entire Durango valley and even peaks near Silverton! This tour provides what we call "free vert"! 1,800 vertical feet of climbing for 6,500ft of descending! From the top we descend all the way to the valley floor of Junction Creek! We then enjoy a water and snack break before making a big climb back up to a high point. At the top of "High Point" we take another break to enjoy the views and lunch. We then are treated with another huge descent all the way back down to Durango! At the bottom you will be greeted by the shuttle driver with snacks and cold drinks before driving back into downtown Durango!
Cancel at least 2 weeks before your tour for a refund minus $20. Cancellations with less than 2 weeks' notice receive no refund. If the operator cancels due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, you'll receive a full refund or credit. No-shows are charged the full price.
