Easy 4-mile paddle with brewery stops for ages 21+
4 hours
Guide, Kayak or SUP, Dry bag
Paddle an easy 4-mile stretch of river by kayak or standup paddleboard (SUP), with leisurely stops at Asheville breweries along the way. You’ll have a guide and a group dry bag for essentials while you’re on the water.
Ages 21+ only. Food and drink purchases are not included; bring your wallet and ID.
Cancellation must be made 7 days prior to trip start. Summer weather in the mountains frequently has scattered afternoon showers; we do not cancel unless there are serious thunderstorms or flooding.
Dress for a river adventure. You may get wet and your feet may get muddy, and you’ll walk a few blocks to breweries after the paddle, so wear comfortable footwear. Bring your wallet and ID. A group dry bag is available for items you want to keep dry (such as clothes, a cell phone, a wallet, and keys).
No. There are no restrooms or changing rooms at the meeting point. If you’d like, you can request to stop at WrongWay cabins for a drink and/or a restroom before starting kayaking.
Each brewery allows you to sample one or two beers to see what you like. Any food or drink you purchase during the day is not included, so plan to pay your own tab.

Katie and her team have built something special on the French Broad River. Their signature kayak and paddleboard brewery tours get consistent praise for feeling less like a structured tour and more like exploring with a local friend. Guides like Walker, Eric, and Dart come up repeatedly for making everyone feel comfortable and welcome, whether you're a first-timer or nervous about the water. The atmosphere stays relaxed and fun without feeling rushed, and groups often mention bonding with other participants by day's end. The brewery stops at spots like Hi Wire, Wedge, and New Belgium are a highlight, offering a unique way to experience Asheville's beer culture from the water. The paddle itself is peaceful and manageable for beginners, with beautiful scenery along the way. Communication and organization consistently earn praise, making the whole experience seamless from booking through the actual tour. It's become a go-to activity for bachelorette parties and friend groups looking for something memorable beyond the usual tourist activities.
We had an amazing time kayaking down the French Broad River with GreenFlash Watersports! The entire experience was so well-organized and relaxing, with just the right amount of adventure. One of the highlights was stopping along multiple local breweries along the way — it was such a fun way to experience Asheville from the water and enjoy some great local brews at the same time. Katie, our tour guide, was absolutely fantastic. She truly made the experience feel personal and welcoming — like we were kayaking with a close friend or family member. She made sure everyone was comfortable and kept the group together without it ever feeling rushed or too structured. Her energy and enthusiasm made the day even more enjoyable! Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a unique and memorable way to explore Asheville!
