Rent an inflatable stand-up paddleboard or paddleship and get out on your favorite lake or river at your own pace. Pick up everything you need at the retail space in Duluth, then head out for a half day, full day, or 3 days.
Half-day rentals are reserved 9am to 1pm or 1pm to 5pm. Daily rentals can be picked up as early as 9:00am and must be returned by 5pm. Paddleship is only available as a full-day rental, and everyone using the equipment must sign required waivers (a parent or guardian signs for minors).
No cash or credit refunds. If canceled up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled tour, an exchange of date or time may be permitted; if rescheduling is not possible, a gift card refund can be issued. If you cancel within 24 hours from the tour time, no exchange or refunds will be given.
Check in at the Zenith Adventure storefront. You’ll just need the name on your reservation to get checked in.
Wear what’s comfortable for the day’s conditions and okay to get wet. Dress for the water temperature (not the air temperature) and avoid baggy clothing. Suggested items include a swimsuit, rash guard or sun-protective shirt, water-compatible shoes, sun hat/sunglasses, sunscreen, a spare set of clothes, and extra layers in case of wind.
Footwear is optional, but water sport shoes or strap sandals can provide grip and protection, especially for beginners. It’s advisable to have some footwear available for launching and landing; boards have bungee cords on the front that can hold sandals.

Duluth harbor tours consistently earn high marks for knowledgeable narration and friendly crews. Guides like Bill and Phil are frequently called out by name for their depth of local history, humor, and willingness to answer questions. Spotting massive freighters up close, including legendary vessels like the Arthur M. Anderson, adds a layer of excitement that keeps visitors coming back decade after decade. Food and drinks are available onboard and generally well-received, though specialty event cruises like the evening dinner show have occasionally fallen short on portions and service. Bar service during busy periods can feel slow, and the indoor seating shows some wear, something to keep in mind if you end up inside due to weather. Booking confirmation is worth double-checking, as at least one reviewer noted a last-minute cancellation due to low numbers. On a pleasant day with a solid guide at the helm, this is genuinely one of the more memorable ways to experience Duluth. The tours run on time, the scenery delivers, and the narration turns a simple boat ride into something you will actually talk about later.
Bill was an excellent and extremely knowledgeable guide for the tour! If you've got questions, he's got answers.
