Wear comfortable swimwear. Bring towels and something to carry your catch home in.
Hydrate well the day before and the day of your dive. Before entering the water, tell your guide about any fears or limitations so they can address your needs.
If you have facial hair, shave directly under your nostrils to help the mask seal. Avoid sunscreen on your face, as it can cause mask leaks and irritate your eyes if it mixes with saltwater inside the mask.
