Explore varied Southwestern scenery on an active multi-sport adventure. Move from the saddle to the river for a day of canyon exploration.
Your day will start by meeting at the Far-Flung Boathouse at 8am, where we will drive you to the Rio Grande Stables office for your two-hour guided horseback ride along the rim of the Red River Canyon to its confluence with the Rio Grande Gorge. A beautiful two-hour horseback ride will take you beneath pines and junipers while you traverse along the rim of the Red River canyon to its confluence with the Rio Grande.
Around 11:30 you will meet back up with us at the rim of the gorge for a delicious homemade lunch. While you enjoy your meal, the guides will pack the rafting equipment onto horses and mules to prepare for the mile long descent from the canyons rim to the river’s edge. Once on the water you will have the opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful sections of the Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument, explore ancient Native American hunting sites, and keep an eye out for the abundant wildlife beneath the towering ponderosa pines. This trip is a good full day of activity and we will plan to be back at you back at our office and your car around 4pm.
