Explore the Shenandoah River by raft on a self-guided trip. You'll paddle without a guide, with basic instructions before you head onto the water.

Unload your cooler near the office, then move your car to the larger parking lot past the campground.
No. River shoes and dry bags are not included, but both are available to buy at the office.
Bring sunscreen, a swimsuit, a hat, sunglasses, a change of clothes, a small cooler with water and snacks, and a waterproof container. Leave behind anything you would hate to lose.

Had a great time. They seemed a bit disorganized but they also had over 250 people to get on the river and a broken bus...so some disorganization is to be expected. We had a wonderful adventure and the 3 miles took just about 4 hours. Learned a few things... Bring bungee chords to attach tubes together rather than using their string. Don't get out of your tube unless you are strong enough to get back in. If you choose to swim. Wear your vest.
