Seasport stands out for having a genuinely passionate crew rather than just running divers through a production line. Reviewers consistently praise guides like Carlos (the "octopus magnet"), Captain Cole, Debbie, Sophie, and Thomas for creating personalized experiences where safety comes first but fun is never forgotten. The team takes time to get to know guests and what they want from their dives, whether that's spotting specific marine life or building confidence for first-timers. People appreciate the unhurried pace and the crew's deep knowledge of Kauai's waters. The marine life encounters are spectacular—expect turtles galore, octopus, dolphins, eels, and vibrant tropical fish. Night dives seem especially magical as the underwater world transforms. The shop itself gets love for its well-stocked selection and helpful staff who'll take time finding the perfect mask fit. One reviewer mentioned some disorganization with shore dive weights and no gas analyzer provided for nitrox, so there may be occasional hiccups with logistics. Overall though, this is a crew that clearly loves sharing the ocean with people, from nervous first-timers to experienced divers tackling advanced sites like Niihau.
This was DEFINITELY the highlight of my trip!! It was my first time so I did the discover dive. First we went out and our guide taught us how to do the basics, and then we went out and did the real dive. We were underwater for around 30 minutes, it was such a fun and new experience!! We saw beautiful fish and many sea turtles.
