Itinerary
- Arrival: Check in 30 minutes before your rental time at Silver Lake Buggy Rentals (8288 W Hazel Rd, Mears MI 49436).
- Paperwork & safety: Check in with a buggy agent, complete waivers, watch a safety video, get helmets, and meet your bus driver.
- Transportation: Shuttle bus for a 5–8 minute ride to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes ORV Park.
- Get on the dunes: Learn vehicle operation, then drive your rental behind the dune guide for about 20–30 minutes; rental timer begins after the guided portion.
- Return: Meet at the parking lot, ride the shuttle back, and receive your damage deposit back.
Important details
- Arrive 30 minutes before your rental time; late arrival reduces your time on the dunes
- Complete a liability waiver for everyone in your party; a parent or guardian must sign for minors
- Bring a valid driver's license for the renter and every driver; the renter's license must match the card used for the rental
- Drivers of 2-seat vehicles must be ages 16+ with a valid driver's license; renters must be ages 18+
- Drivers and renters of the 4-seat KRX must be ages 21+ with a valid driver's license
- Watch the safety video and complete the instructional tour before driving
- Make sure every rider has a seat; no one may wait outside a vehicle to switch in
- Bring required eye protection, such as sunglasses, glasses, goggles, or safety glasses
- Children must be ages 2+ and use a forward-facing car seat when applicable; Dune Rover vehicles do not allow car seats
- Use a child safety seat or booster seat in a rear seat for children under age 8 or under 4 feet 9 inches; children under 13 ride in the rear when available
- Dune Rover total passenger weight limit is 500 lbs
- A refundable security-deposit hold, not included in the listed price, is required on arrival: $750 for Dune Rover and KRX 2-seat vehicles or $1,000 for KRX 4-seat vehicles
- Not recommended for pregnant women or people with neck or back issues
Cancellation Policy
Reservations are final. If you decline to ride because of rain at check-in, receive a 90% refund. If weather is unsafe and the operator closes for the day, receive a full refund. If you ride and return early due to rain, no refund is issued.
