Itinerary

The 3-Hour Adventure Itinerary Times will verry. 00:00 – Departure from John’s Pass Meet your Captain at the docks (near the Cambria Hotel) and step aboard. As we clear the "no-wake" zone of historic John’s Pass, have your cameras ready. This is a prime spot to see local dolphin pods hunting for breakfast or lunch near the bridge pilings. – Wildlife "Safari" & Coastal Cruise We open up the throttle for a scenic ride south toward Shell Key. Your Captain will navigate the Intracoastal and the Gulf, specifically scouting for bottlenose dolphins, manatees, and sea turtles. If the dolphins are in a playful mood, your Captain will position the boat so they can jump and surf in the wake right behind you. – Arrival at Shell Key Island We drop anchor in the shallow, turquoise waters of Shell Key Preserve. This 1,800-acre island is a hidden gem accessible only by boat. Your Captain will provide snorkeling gear and noodles, helping you into the water to explore the grass flats and sandy bottom. – Snorkeling & Shelling Treasure Hunt The next hour is yours to explore! In the water: Snorkel to find local marine life like olive snails, hermit crabs, and the occasional stingray. On the beach: Walk the pristine shoreline to hunt for "treasures." Shell Key is famous for fighting conchs, lightning whelks, and sand dollars. – Relax & Refresh Climb back on board to dry off. This is the perfect time to open your BYOB cooler, enjoy a cold drink and a snack, and listen to some music. Your Captain will share "fun facts" and local history about the surrounding islands and the Gulf ecosystem as we begin our leisurely trek back. – The "Scenic Route" Return We take a different path back to maximize wildlife viewing. We’ll cruise past the beautiful waterfront homes of Treasure Island and St. Pete Beach, keeping a sharp eye out for manatees lounging in the warmer canal waters. Sunset at the end – Arrival back at John's Pass We return to the docks just in time for you to enjoy the shops and restaurants at John's Pass. If you’re on the late-afternoon trip, you’ll catch the beginning of a spectacular Gulf sunset as we pull back into the slip. Pro-Tips for Your Trip: Footwear: Wear water shoes; the shells on the island can be sharp! Parking: Allow 20 minutes for parking at the John's Pass structures. Hydration: We provide ice and water, but feel free to bring your favorite canned beverages (no glass, please!).
