Wear quick-dry synthetic or wool layers, a windbreaker or light waterproof jacket, and secure shoes that can get wet. Avoid cotton, jeans, and flip-flops.
Bring a full water bottle, snacks or a light lunch, sun protection, and a hat and sunglasses. Pack dry socks and shoes or a change of clothes for afterward.
Prepare for variable conditions. Mornings are often cool or foggy and may warm later, so dress in layers suited to your comfort with heat and cold.
