Yes. You pay the captain and crew separately on the dock before departure. The captain/crew fee is $100 per hour (for example: $400 for 4 hours, $600 for 6 hours, $800 for 8 hours). Tips are optional and customarily 15%–20% of the boat price.
Arrive at least 30 minutes early for paperwork and a safety briefing. If you don’t notify the operator that you’ll be late, they mark you as a no-show 30 minutes after the start time and charge the full trip price. If you notify them before the start time, they hold the boat for up to 1 hour, but they won’t extend your return time.
Bring towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, food/snacks, and any drinks you want. Bring alcohol if you plan to drink; cans are preferred over glass.

The captains here clearly make the entire experience. Guests rave about Sebastian, Corbin, and Kyle by name, consistently describing them as funny, personable, and professional. These aren't just boat drivers—they're the kind of people who make a day on the water memorable with their jokes, attentiveness, and genuine cool factor. Multiple reviews mention feeling completely safe while having an absolute blast, which is exactly what you want in a captain. Crab Island excursions seem to be the main attraction, and the crew knows how to make it special. First-timers and return visitors alike talk about seamless, stress-free outings where captains cater to their group's needs. The enthusiasm is contagious—people are already planning their return trips and specifically requesting their captain by name. With a perfect track record across reviews, this operation has clearly figured out the formula for exceptional boat charters.
