Bioluminescence Kayak Tour on Tomales Bay

Itinerary

We will meet at Miller Boat Launch (next to Nick’s Cove Restaurant and Cottages). After organizing gear, reviewing basic kayaking instructions and safety procedures, we'll launch our boats and paddle across the bay to the Point Reyes National Seashore. After the sun sets, and the sky goes dark, we will be able to see the bioluminescence. All guided tours are in tandem closed deck sea kayaks. Our double kayaks track well, are difficult to capsize, and are easy to maneuver. All the necessary gear such as life jackets, paddles, and spray skirts is provided.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your tour starts to get prepared for your tour.

The first 30 to 45 minutes of your 3 hour tour will be on-shore preparation for your adventure.

Important details

• Arrive 15–30 minutes early for parking, restrooms, layer adjustments, and onshore preparation
• Ages 13+ only; participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
• Height must be under 6 ft 6 in and weight must be under 265 lbs
• Complete the online waiver before arrival
• Wear wool or synthetic layers, a warm insulating layer, a windbreaker or rain jacket, and shoes that can get wet; no flip-flops
• Bring a water bottle, snacks, a headlamp or flashlight, and dry socks or shoes for after the tour
• Expect to share a tandem kayak with another individual or group if your party has an odd number of paddlers
