Ride the Tropical Express through Maui’s private plantation and experience Hawaiʻi’s vibrant flora in just 40 minutes. Enjoy a live coconut husking demonstration and time afterward to explore the gardens at your own pace.
Tours depart hourly from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Tuesday to Sunday. Arrive at the boarding platform 10 minutes early; masks are optional and the tram is wheelchair accessible.
Refundable up to 15 minutes before your scheduled tour; private group bookings excluded. Late arrivals may reschedule online at least 15 minutes beforehand or on-site 10 minutes before the next departure. Tours operate in light rain; heavy weather may cancel with option to reschedule or receive a refund.

The property features multiple draws: a produce market with fresh tropical fruits at reasonable prices, a train tour that gets high marks for being informative, and zipline adventures led by exceptional guides like Nate, Seth, and Pono who blend safety with humor and genuine care for guests. Cafe O Lei stands out as a major highlight. The brunch earns rave reviews, particularly the French onion soup, and the mountain views from the large patio create a memorable dining experience. Between the walking paths, tours, shopping for farm products, and quality food options, there's enough variety here to fill a few hours. The overall atmosphere feels family-friendly and relaxed, with visitors appreciating both the historical sugar mill elements and the well-maintained tropical setting that makes it an appealing stop during a Maui visit.
Lunch at the restaurant was FANTASTIC! Great farmers market type store. Our tour guide was great. We did this instead of the pineapple tour, manly because we heard the restaurant was great, and it was, but also because it was 1/4 the price of the other. The other tour would probably be “better” but this one was well worth the $25 (instead of $95)!

Lunch at the restaurant was FANTASTIC! Great farmers market type store. Our tour guide was great. We did this instead of the pineapple tour, manly because we heard the restaurant was great, and it was, but also because it was 1/4 the price of the other. The other tour would probably be “better” but this one was well worth the $25 (instead of $95)!
